About One Uncle

What is One Uncle?

One Uncle is an all-in-one operations platform purpose-built for UK structural engineering firms. It replaces the disconnected stack of Excel spreadsheets, Outlook, Dropbox, and generic CRMs with a single system that handles everything from quoting and invoicing to project management and client communication.

Who is One Uncle designed for?

One Uncle is built specifically for small and mid-sized structural engineering firms in the UK, typically with 1–20 people. It is designed for firm owners, principals, and senior engineers who spend too much time on business admin instead of engineering.

What tools does One Uncle replace?

One Uncle replaces Excel for project tracking, Outlook and Gmail for client email management, Dropbox and Google Drive for document storage, and generic CRMs like Salesforce or HubSpot. All of these are unified into one platform with full context per project.

Does One Uncle integrate with Xero or QuickBooks?

Yes. One Uncle integrates natively with both Xero and QuickBooks. Invoices are automatically generated and synced, payment reminders are sent automatically, and financial reports are produced monthly without manual reconciliation.

What is the anti-CRM approach?

Traditional CRMs like Salesforce and HubSpot are built for sales teams, not engineers. They require heavy customisation, create data silos, and do not understand how engineering projects actually work. One Uncle is built around the engineering workflow — projects, enquiries, drawings, invoices, and client communications — not a generic sales pipeline.

Do clients or architects need to use any special software?

No. One Uncle includes a client and partner portal where architects and clients can upload drawings, check project status, and pay deposits or invoices via Stripe or GoCardless. They do not need to install anything.
